I have always had a love for art and design as far back as I can remember, whether it was drawing with pencil and paper or designing posters and flyers with graphics software. I first realized the possibilities of image manipulation using graphic software after a week of work experience in 1992 at Moray Instruments and Computers in Elgin, where my Dad worked. I was shown a digital camera and how you could change different elements of that image using photoshop style software by a programmer called Les Benzies, who also taught me how to program my first image slideshow.
Jump forward to the 16th of June 2011 when I started my own web and graphic design business, AJF Web Design. 2011 was also the same year I decided to enrol at Moray College on the Interactive Media HNC course. My thinking was that as I am a self-taught start up I should try and achieve a qualification in my chosen industry, not only to give my business some certificated credibility but also to better my skills so I could offer clients the most professional services possible. It turned out that I made the right decision as the IM department at Moray College UHI has a plethora of designers and developers within their lecturing staff and I have been very fortunate to learn a huge number of new skills over the years allowing me to increase my services.
Almost six years later I have been lucky to work on some great projects creating websites for start-up businesses, branding international companies, hosting 60+ websites, managing social media campaigns, designing advertising materials, creating 3D visualisations, game design and many more.
I have included a small selection of my work in this portfolio, so if you would like any further examples of my work, or if you have any other questions, then please do not hesitate to get in touch. You can view and download a copy of my portfolio FROM HERE
